IRS Filing Deadline Extended

Did you know that this year you have until April 17 to file your personal income taxes? Since April 15 falls on a Saturday this year, you have two extra days to file and pay your taxes. If you still need extra time to file your taxes, contact the IRS to file an extension. For more information on how to file for an extension, visit the IRS website.

Taxpayers in the states of Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont as well as the District of Columbia have until April 18 to file and pay taxes. All of these states plus the District of Columbia are served by the Andover, Massachusetts IRS processing center which will be closed Monday, April 17 for Patriot's Day, a Massachusetts state holiday.

Patriot's Day is celebrated the third Monday in April in honor of the Revolutionary War battles of Concord and Lexington. Patriot's Day is a state holiday in both Massachusetts and Maine.
