Employer Status Notification (Stop and Start Cards)

"Start" and "Stop" Cards have been traditionally used by IBEW Local Unions to notify the NEBF and NECA Chapters when employers started and stopped working within their jurisdiction. These forms are vitally important for several reasons, including:
  • Delinquent work history is more quickly credited to participant records, providing for a more-seamless retirement process.
  • Collections are performed with greater accuracy, minimizing employers who are mislabeled as delinquent.
The paper "Start" and "Stop" Cards have been combined into one simple and efficient electronic form. The new "Employer Status Notification" is designed so that communication can flow in all directions and be completed by any party, including IBEW Local Unions, NECA Chapters, and the employer itself. This also does away with the cumbersome and expensive paper process.

The electronic "Employer Status Notification" can be downloaded. The template may be posted on your organization’s website or distributed as you see fit. Please help us help your members by using this notification to alert us when employers start or stop work within your jurisdiction. As part of our effort to reduce paper and costs, completed forms may be sent to us by email at employerservices@nebf.com.
